During our week vacation in southern California, we learned a lot of things. Here are a few of the things we learned at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
We learned you can celebrate every day. And Lisa gets real excited when you celebrate them at Disneyland. You should see her happy dance.

We learned Brett likes to be in a lot of photos and he gets real excited about the Dumbo ride.

We learned some of us look better with Mickey ears than others. (Isn’t he handsome?)

We learned a cruise around the world doesn’t have to take a long time.

We learned there is no “Map Man” in Toon Town. So we learned how to read our own maps. We learned that if Lisa looks like she knows where she’s going in Disney, Brett won’t often question her.

We learned Brett plays beautiful music on toon pianos and can do a great impersonation of a chicken.

We learned Mickey likes Lisa more than he likes Brett. Or is it that Brett likes Lisa more than Mickey?

We learned that some times it can be hard to tell the difference between what is real and what isn’t.

We learned you don’t have to solve all the problems.

We learned the train is a fashionable way to get around.

We learned Brett likes to eat more regularly than Lisa does.

We learned that some things, like corny jokes, and singing birds, never get old.

We learned that Brett speaks whale, Lisa can interact with sea turtles (Woo hoo!), and that L is for Lisa. Or was that “Lifornia”?

We learned that Brett was not meant to rule England. He gave it a valiant effort. Perhaps Zimbabwe. But he does like waterfalls. Wait, we already knew that last one.

We learned you do not always have to violently stir the tea. Some times calm is better.

We learned what happens when Lisa makes Brett ride in the front. You aren’t “that” wet honey. At least he found his “thotful” happy place.

We learned there are a lot more punny car jokes than we ever thought possible.

We learned some times you just have to enjoy the view.

We learned all about bugs. Bugs are friends, not food. Or something like that.

We learned that Brett is always ready with a smile, because you never know when your picture will be taken. We learned that Lisa, on the other hand, will almost, but not quite, swear, when you propel her from 0 to 59 MPH in 4 seconds.

We learned how to enjoy the quieter rides. And how to take real good pictures of ourselves.

We learned that the movies can come to life.

We learned how to draw Goofy and Donald. Goofy turned out pretty, goofy.

We learned what a zoetrope is. They’re real cool! (You can watch this one in motion here.)

We learned where to go to get a real nice stroller.
We also learned that your arm really will go flying if you walk head on into a pole. Kids are funny people.

We learned that even if you are both going in the same horizontal direction, things can get tricky if you are going in different vertical directions.

We learned spots marked with a “Kodak Photo” sign really do make good photos.

We learned honey is sweet, and Tigger should maybe watch his diet. On the count of three, 1, 2, 3…

We learned some things can be harder than they look (keep doing those push-ups honey, you’ll get it one day) and a ride to no where in particular is a good way to start, and finish, a journey.

And we learned Lisa doesn’t need to be a Disney princess, because she’s Brett’s princess. (We already knew that one too though.)

Good-bye Disneyland!

Hmm. That sketch doesn’t look like you at all, but I still like it!

Actually, I think it looks like us if I had perfectly smooth skin.

Which sketch? Donald or Goofy?

We also learned that you have to run water through a coffee maker at least four times to get all the icky coffee and floaties out of it so you can make instant oatmeal for breakfast.

I had no idea that you guys were so good at drawing. I am glad that you had a wonderful time in Disneyland! We had a blast when we went last year. It is a magical place.

We had no idea we were so good at drawing either! Just don’t ask us to draw anything else.
