Things we learned at the San Diego Zoo

The next day we learned a lot about animals that live on drier ground. Here’s the things we learned at the San Diego Zoo.

We learned trees are good places to sit back and eat, or relax, or play.

We learned you need to always keep a watchful eye.

We learned some animals just aren’t fluffy enough to get a line to see them.

We learned some animals have other issues (although with a zoom on your camera you can read the sign from clear across the path).

We learned you should only put one bear in the bathtub at a time.

We learned baby pandas are cute. And baby panda keepers are very protective of their baby pandas and will get on their megaphones and tell you to keep quiet so you don’t scare the baby panda.

We learned there are a lot of black and white animals in the world.

We learned there are a lot of animals in the world that look like variations on a deer.

We learned about tar pits and modern relatives. And elephants. We learned that Lisa still really likes elephants. (No surprise there.) How big is the mammoth? So big.

We learned Brett will only kiss one statue per trip. And sometimes the statue doesn’t care. But that doesn’t mean he won’t interact with the other statues.

We learned we both still like turtles.

We learned camels are messy eaters.

We learned you should always look good when you go out for a walk.

We learned that learning about animals can change you.

We learned there have been animal adaptations to avoid tailgaters. (Where do I get a set of those for my car?)

We learned that the ride above it all can be peaceful and calm. Especially when Brett gets that heavenly glow.
